Admission Announcement for Ph.D. programs for the session 2025-26 Prevailing UGC Regulations

Information/Guidelines for admission to Ph.D. programs
Online Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission in various Ph.D. programs of Doon University. Details of programs, seats available and mode of admission is given below:
The National Eligibility Test (NET) scores for admission to Ph.D. Programs will be used by the University as per the University Grants Commission (UGC), notification dated 27.03.2024
Eligibility: Doon University Ph.D Admission 2025-26
2. The following will be the key eligibility requirements for Ph.D. Admissions at the University:
i) Candidates with National Level Examinations: Candidates who have qualified national level exams like JRF (UGC/CSIR), NET (UGC/CSIR).
ii) Candidates with NET Qualification (Ph.D. only): Candidates who have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Ph.D. (Category-3).
Scores Obtained
Based on the scores obtained in NET, the candidates will be eligible in three categories.

In accordance with the above table, Ph.D. Admissions will be given as below:
i) JRF- Qualified students may be given admission into the Ph.D. Programme. The Candidates with valid UGC NET with JRF shall be called for interview.
ii) The marks obtained in the NET by the candidates in Category 2 and 3 will be valid for a period of one year for admission to Ph.D. Programs.
After concluding the process of filling of online application form candidates will be called for interview and merit list will be prepared as per UGC Regulations and Doon University Ph.D. Ordinances. For which information will be notified through the university website.
Candidates are required to fill the online application form by visiting the University website.

Note: Reservation will be applicable as per the State Govt. Rules.
Registration/Application Fee
i. The candidates seeking admission are required to deposit application fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/- for Uttarakhand SC/ST candidates).
ii. Application fee shall not be refundable and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
✦ University reserves the right to withdraw any programme if the situation so warrants. seats can be increased or reduced.
✦ The admission in the academic program is subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission at any point of time, if the provided information by the candidate is found to be incorrect/ misleading.

Fee Structure: Doon University Ph.D Admission 2025-26
(i) Common Fee (irrespective of academic programs):
1. Admission Fee (one time – non-refundable): Rs. 2000.00
2. Caution Money (One Time-Refundable): Rs. 5000.00
3. Degree Fee (one time for one degree- non-refundable): Rs. 750.00
4. University Magazine Fee (on annual basis): Rs. 100.00
5. Student Council Fee (on annual basis) Rs. 100.00
(ii) Hostel Fees
1. Lodging (per semester): Rs. 6000.00
2. Electricity, water, utilities charges (per semester): Rs. 2000.00
3. Mess Caution Money (One time- refundable): Rs. 2000.00
Mess charges: Actual as per tender rates for food.
(iv) Tuition and other fees (per Semester):
Tuition Fee- Rs. 10,000 and Other Fee- Rs 10,000 (Total Rs. 20,000/- per semester)
