1. Examination Overview
The WBJEEB will conduct an OMR-based Common Entrance Examination for admission to:
* Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (Revised) [ANM(R)]: A 2-year course (Female candidates only).
* General Nursing & Midwifery [GNM]: A 3-year course (Female and Male candidates).
The exam date for the 2025-26 academic session is "To Be Notified Soon".

Scoring Methodology:
* Category-1 (Single correct option): +1 for correct, -¼ for incorrect, 0 for unattempted.
* Category-2 (One or more correct options):
* +2 for marking all correct options only.
* 0 if any incorrect option is marked.
* Partial marks if only some correct options are marked: `2 × (no. of correct options marked / total no. of correct options)`.
3. Eligibility Criteria
A) For Appearing in the Exam:
* Must be an Indian citizen and a domicile of West Bengal.
* Must have passed or be appearing in 2025 in the 10+2 examination.
* Must be at least 17 years old as on **31st December 2025.
B) For Admission:
* Domicile: Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least the last 10 years till 31st December 2024.
* Language: Must be able to read, write, and express in Bengali and/or Nepali.
* Educational Qualification:
* Passed 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 40% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B).
* Must have passed English in 10+2.
* Specific rules apply for candidates from the Vocational Stream (Healthcare Science).
* Medical Fitness: A medical fitness certificate (as per Appendix-3) is mandatory at the time of admission.
4. Application Process
* Mode: Online only at www.wbjeeb.nic.in or www.wbjeeb.in.
* Fee:
* ₹300 for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/Orphan candidates.
* ₹400 for all other candidates.
* Plus applicable bank charges. Fee is non-refundable.
* Steps: Registration → Filling Application → Uploading Photo & Signature → Fee Payment → Download Confirmation Page.
* Crucial Note: Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Domicile, and Date of Birth entered during registration CANNOT be changed later.
5. Important Dates
* Application Start: To be notified.
* Last Date for Application: To be notified.
* Correction Window: A period will be notified for correcting details (except unchangeable fields).
* Exam Date: To be notified.
* Admit Card Download: To be notified.
* Result Declaration: To be notified.
6. Reservation of Seats
Reservation will be available as per Govt. rules for the following categories:
* Scheduled Caste (SC)
* Scheduled Tribe (ST)
* Other Backward Classes - Category-A (More Backward) and Category-B (Backward) [Non-Creamy Layer only]
* Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
* Persons with Disabilities (PwD) - Only for 40-50% locomotor disability in lower limbs.
* Orphans and Inmates of Destitute Homes
* Civil Defence Volunteers
All certificates must be issued by the Competent Authorities as specified in the bulletin.
7. Key Documents Required
Candidates must be ready with original and self-attested copies of:
1. Domicile Certificate (Proforma a1, a2, or b from Appendix-1, 2, 10).
2. Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) if applicable.
3. PwD Certificate if applicable.
4. Class 10 & 12 Mark Sheets and Certificates.
5. Medical Fitness Certificate (Appendix-3).
6. Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.).
7. Demand Draft of ₹1000 (for Guest Faculty application, as per previous query context).
8. General Instructions
Admit Card: Must be carried in printed hard copy to the exam centre. Mutilated cards will not be accepted.
Exam Centre:
Allocated based on candidate's zone choices. The Board's decision is final.
Ranking: Two separate General Merit Ranks (GMR) will be prepared for ANM(R) and GNM.
Counselling: Sequencing for seat allotment will be based on GMR only. Securing a rank does not guarantee admission; eligibility is verified during counselling.
Legal Jurisdiction:
All matters fall under the jurisdiction of Kolkata courts.
