Candidates must meet one of the following academic pathways:

Master’s Degree (1-year/2-semester after 4-year UG or 2-year/4-semester after 3-year UG) with 55% marks or equivalent grade.
M.Phil. Degree with 55% marks or equivalent.
4-year UG with Honors and Research: Minimum 75% marks.
Foreign Degrees: Must be accredited by recognized agencies.
Sanskrit Requirement: For Classical Indian Philosophy topics, a diploma in Sanskrit is needed if not studied at UG/PG level.
Education & Library Science: Combined B.Ed.+M.Ed. or B.Lib.Sc.+M.Lib.Sc. marks will be halved for eligibility.
Part-Time Ph.D.: Requires 2 years of full-time work experience.

Relaxation of 5% marks is applicable for OSC/DSC/BC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled/EWS candidates from Haryana.

Admission is based on merit, seat availability, and availability of research supervisors.
Qualifying the entrance test or being exempted does not guarantee admission.
M.Phil. candidates awaiting viva may apply provisionally.
