Eligibility Criteria
- 1-year/2-semester master's degree after 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree OR 2-year/4-semester master's degree after 3-year bachelor's degree
- Minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/EWS)
- Candidates with 4-year bachelor's degree must have minimum 75% marks (70% for reserved categories)
- Valid score in National Eligibility Test (NET) or equivalent national-level examination
- M.Phil. degree holders with at least 55% marks are also eligible
Selection Procedure
Admission is based on National Eligibility Test (NET) scores as per UGC notification dated 27th March 2024:

Important Note
It is mandatory to submit the Scorecard of NET or equivalent national-level test while filling out the application form.
Reservation Policy
Reservation of seats is as per Government of India rules:
Scheduled Castes (SC)
Scheduled Tribes (ST)
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
Program Duration
- Minimum Duration: 3 years (including coursework)
- Maximum Duration: 6 years from date of admission
- Extension: Additional 2 years through re-registration process
- Special Provisions: Female scholars and PwBD candidates may get additional 2 years extension (max 10 years)
- Maternity Leave: Female scholars may avail up to 240 days during entire program
