West Bengal Primary Schools Jobs 2025: Special Educator Posts
The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has released an official notification for the direct recruitment of 2308 Special Education Teachers in Government Aided and Government Sponsored Primary/Junior Basic Schools across all districts of the state.
This recruitment drive is being conducted in compliance with orders from the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Post Details:
- Name of Post: Special Education Teacher (Primary Schools)
- Number of Vacancies: 2308
- Pay Scale: As per West Bengal Government rules
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- D.Ed. in Special Education from an RCI-approved institute + valid RCI CRR number
OR
- D.El.Ed. with a Certificate/Diploma in Special Education (RCI-approved) + valid CRR number
Additional Requirement:
- Six-month training in cross-disability inclusive education (may be completed after joining if not already done)
Language:
- Candidates must have studied the medium of instruction of the school (e.g., Bengali, English, etc.) as a first, second, or third language at Secondary/Higher Secondary level.
Age Limit (as of 01.01.2025):
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 40 years
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates as per state norms.
Selection Process:
Selection will be based on a total of 100 marks:
- TET (Teacher Eligibility Test): 80 marks
- Classroom Teaching Demo + Interview: 10 + 10 marks
Note: Candidates who have already passed TET may also apply and can choose whether to reappear or use their existing scores.

- SC/ST/EWS/PwD: No fee
