Important Note: Any seats that are left empty in one category will be re-allocated to other categories as per the university's rules.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Candidates should be Graduate in a school subject from a recognized University.
- Candidates with at least 50 % marks either in bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree in School subjects.
- Bachelors in Engineering or Technology / B.C.A. / M.C.A. with Science and / or Mathematics as subject with 55 % marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission.
- Fresher should have at least 50 % (fifty) marks either in bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree in school subject. For Master’s Degree Programmed two years duration will be considered for scoring.
- For candidates, in case of Honours Graduates in school subject, the marks obtained in Honours subject will be considered.
- In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects will be considered.
- For fresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each pedagogy subject based on scoring.
- Age limit for Fresher is 37 years as on 01.07.2025. There is no age limit for Deputed teachers.
- In case of deputed candidates, tenure of service will be consider for preparing merit list.
- Relaxation of marks and Reservation of seats for SC/ST /PWD (Minimum disability 40%) candidates will be as per State Govt. Rules. Admissions are provisional and the same are subject to the outcome of the final result of the SLP bearing No. 17422/2025 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

- Medium of instruction: Bengali / English
- The B.Ed. Programme shall be duration of two academic sessions and having 4 semesters.
- 95 % of seat intake will be reserved for Fresh Candidates and 5 % for untrained in service / Deputed school teachers of classes V to XII.
- The intake ratio for home University and other Universities shall be 80:20.
- Out of total seats in the fresh category, 80% are meant for the student of the Kalyani University and 20 % for the students other than Kalyani University students. Students of Kalyani University mean those who possess current Registration Certificate of the Kalyani University and have not migrated from this University.
Admission procedure for B.Ed. Programme (for fresh candidates):
Admission will be on the basis of score against marks obtained in the qualifying examinations and as per norms of the University. Score against marks for different level of examination will be as follows:

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the M.Ed. programme (Session: 2025-2026) at the Department of Education, University of Kalyani.
Eligibility
A. Applicants should have at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in Masters Degree in any school subject preceded by Honours Degree and at least 55% in B.Ed. or any equivalent degree from any Institution recognized by the institute.
B. However, in deputed category only untrained teachers from and Govt./Govt.-aided B.Ed. colleges will be considered.
C. Total number of seats: 50 (The ratio for Home University students and other University students shall 80:20 and 5% seats will be reserved for in-service deputed B.Ed. teachers. ‘Students of Kalyani University’ means those who possess current Registration Certificate of the Kalyani University and not migrated from this University. Seats will be distributed among the freshers if deputed seats are lying vacant.)
D. Reservation of seats as per Govt. rules. Admissions are provisional and the same are subject to the outcome of the final result of the SLP bearing No. 17422/2025 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
E. Merit list will be prepared based on both Career Marking and Entrance Test marks for freshers candidates & for deputed candidates length of service will be considered.
a. Career Marking
In Career marking five components (i.e. aggregate marks obtained in 10th, 12th, Graduation (Hons), Post Graduation & B.Ed. will be proportionately evaluated in 50 marks by distributing 10 marks for each.
b. Entrance Test
Entrance Test is compulsory for both Home and Other candidates for freshers only. Total marks obtained by the applicant in the entrance test will be added. Based on the sum of total marks obtained in a & b final merit list shall be prepared keeping in view the reservation norms of the Government.
