Selection Process:

Position Title:
Visiting lecturer of Bengali on a fixed-term contract.
Job Description:
The position requires a minimum of eight 90-minute classes per week, including Bengali language courses as well as courses on Bengali and South Asian language and culture, at both UG and PG levels.
Administrative duties related to teaching Bengali, providing personalized student support, developing entrance exams for the university, and support for annual Bengali language plays at the university fest are also part of the job.
Candidate Profile:
A doctorate is desirable.
Applicants should have published at least three books or journal articles.
Experience of teaching/learning a foreign language (non-English, non-south-Asian languages) is desirable.
Candidates must be native Bengali speakers and have studied Bengali as a subject in school. (Irrespective of nationality)
Contract Details:
The contract is for a fixed term of two years. It may be renewed once, depending on a performance evaluation and the university's needs and financial situation.
Compensation:
The remuneration is in line with the rates set by TUFS, and depends on the prior work experience of the applicant.
