Miss Universe India 2025 Finale
The Miss Universe India 2025 grand finale captivated audiences today as contestants from across the country vied for the prestigious crown.
Among the standout participants were eight promising aspirants from India's North-Eastern states, with Nagaland's own Kelülü Dawhuo making a significant impression on the national stage.
Nineteen-year-old Kelülü Dawhuo, a student from Thenyizumi village in the Phek district, represented Nagaland with grace and courage.
Her journey to the national finale was marked by a series of victories, including being crowned Miss Kohima 2024, followed by Miss Nagaland 2nd Runner-up 2024, and finally earning the title of Miss Universe Nagaland 2025.
In a poignant moment during the National Costume round, Dawhuo paid tribute to her heritage, donning an ensemble inspired by Pfüda-Le, a legendary female spirit from Chokri-speaking Chakhesang folklore.
The costume, designed by Khrielasier Liezietsu, also incorporated the Rura, a cultural shawl of the Chakhesang community. In her introduction, Dawhuo expressed her belief that "courage allows even the smallest voices to reach the big stage," a sentiment that resonated with many as she carried the hopes and dreams of the unheard.
The competition, held in Jaipur, was a test of not only beauty but also immense resilience and discipline.
A contestant's diary offered a glimpse into the grueling behind-the-scenes reality, where long days and short nights pushed participants to their limits.
The narrative highlighted that the competition is a test of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength, with every detail, from a contestant's walk to their overall self-carriage, under scrutiny.
The diary also noted that the journey was as much about personal growth as it was about winning, with contestants showing dignity and grace even when faced with challenges.
In addition to Kelülü Dawhuo, the North-Eastern region was well-represented by a talented cohort of contestants, showcasing the diversity and beauty of the region. These included:
Tokmem Esther Mengu and Longku Komal from Arunachal Pradesh
Neha Baruah from Assam
Sarangthem Nirupama from Manipur
Chaivalry Lartang from Meghalaya
Evelyn Zachhingpuii from Mizoram
Khumjar Debbarma from Tripura
While the articles did not contain the final results of the Miss Universe India 2025 finale, the presence and performance of these eight aspirants, particularly Kelülü Dawhuo, underscored the talent and potential of the North-Eastern states on a national platform.
The journey of these young women has already been an inspiration, demonstrating that with hard work and determination, dreams can be turned into reality.
