It is hereby informed to all concerned that Govt. Training College, Hooghly invites online application from the eligible candidates (boys only) for admission into the two-year B.Ed. program for the academic session 2025-2027 on and from 2nd September, 2025.

Guidelines and Instructions for applying online for Admission Session 2025-2027


Candidates will require a scanned copy of a recent passport size photograph and a sean copy of his signature

Candidates will require to upload scanned copies of all their testimonials

Candidates should enter a valid mobile number and an E-mail id, required for future correspondencé Visit college website to find admission portal and fill in the form (Link of the same is also provided in the brochure)

After filling up the form, click "Save and Continue" to verify your filled in form and then submit (College Authority will not be responsible for any false information provided by the candidate)

Take a printout of the filled in application for future reference. It will be required during admission.

Do not send the hardcopy of the filled in form now.

Eligibility Criteria


Candidates (both Fresh and Deputed) with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree (50% in aggregate combining Honours and Elective subjects) and/or in the Master's Degree in Humanities/Social Science/Science or Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with Science and/or Mathematics, with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission. Such candidates are required to enter the marks of B.E/ B. Tech. in the row of Honours Degree. M.E./M. Tech result (if any) will be entered in the Master's Degree row. Relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks will be allowed in graduation or postgraduation in case of SC/ST/PWD (Minimum disability 40%) candidates.

Documents required at the Time of Counselling and Spot Admission


  • All testimonials in original and 2 sets of self-attested photocopies (Le, all marksheets. certificates, age proof, caste certificate, residential proof, Aadhar card)
  • Self-attested photocopy of filled in application form
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Printout of payment slip (after being selected)
  • Additional documents required for Deputed Candidates only

Applicants deputed by School must submit an attested copy of M.C/ S.M.C resolution recording the approval of Service regarding his service with the form.

Following additional documents are required to be submitted positively on the day of joining the B.Ed. programmes in institutions:

1. Release order from the Headmaster/ Headmistress.

2. Attested copy of M.C. resolution with regards to his deputation, countersigned by D. 1. of Schools (Secondary). 

3. Certificate from Competent Authority whether the candidate teaches in Class VI or above.

4. Two copies of passport size photographs of the applicant.

5. Deputation form duly filled in (available from the Institution after admission)

6. A certificate with the following information is to be submitted from the Secretary or

Headmaster/Headmistress (where he is serving) and counter signed by the D.I. of Schools of the District concerned:

  • Certified that the school is in receipt of aid on full/ deficit/ lumpsum grant basis or that school in unaided or salary deficit scheme one.
  • Certified that he is duly approved teacher.
  • Certified that he is being deputed by the school for undergoing two-year B.Ed. Courses (2025-27)

Admission Procedure


Admission Procedure Important Points to be noted before Counseling

  • Mere inclusion of name in the list for counseling does not guarantee one's final admission to the course. Data provided in the online application should be corroborated with the original documents in course of physical verification.

  • As and when the seat(s) of any subject will be filled, immediately the counseling and admission for that subject will be declared closed.

  • Listed candidate who will remain absent in the particular day and time of counseling will not be considered for next counseling process whatsoever his merit position be. Automatically next candidate as per score will be considered in the similar manner.

  • Students who will be admitted in either the 1st or 2nd Counselling are required to notify the concerned authority of their admission cancellation, if any, through email (with proper reason) within 7 days of Admission. Only then the college will consider partial refund of their admission fee and hostel foc (if paid).

No requests for cancellation and refund will be entertained after 7 days of admission.

"Candidates having EWS certificate issued by the competent authority (DM/ADM/SDO/DWO) will come under this reservation category as declared fry the state govt. (Refer to Govt. of West Bengal Office Memorandum-325-PAR (AR)3P-1/2019 and Kolkata Gazette no. 339-Edn (CS)/OM-741/2003 of 26th May, 2023), EWS candidate admissions will be based on a general merit list, not specific to any subject. If the college fails to find suitable candidate in the EWS category, the unfilled sents will be converted to the general category.

**Deputed candidates from Govt. School will be given priority. If no Deputed candidate is found eligible then the seats reserved for deputed will be converted into fresher seat (After getting permission from the university, BSAEU)

ST candidate admissions will be based on a general merit list, not specific to any subject.

#SC/ST candidates residing outside of West Bengal will be treated as general candidate.

#Differently Abled candidates having less than 40% disability will be treated as a general candidate.

Admission of OBC candidates will be based on Supreme Court Verdict on OBC dated 28 July, 2025, and following the university notification https.uct.in/wirutteps/niles

It is necessary to present the admission fee and all required documents on the day and time of admission. Failure to do so may result in denial of admission. Additionally, if any of the documents are found to be invalid, the admission may be cancelled at any time,

Fees of two compulsory value-added certificate course is included in the fee structure.

6-month's certificate course on Yoga and Neuropathy conducted by Asian Yoga Research Institute, Kolkata

Two certificate courses on Artificial Intelligence conducted by IIT Bombay

After successful completion of the admission process classes will commence from 30th October, 2025

Hostel fees including lodging, electricity etc. Rs. 6000 (for 2 years) will have to be deposited on or before admission into hostel in consultation with hostel superintendent. Those who live beyond 50 kms from college should occupy the hostel and ensure regular attendance in college.

Instructions for anti-ragging


Ragging is totally prohibited in the institution, and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively, or being a part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with the regulations as well as under the provisions of any penal law for the time being in force. In terms of UGC regulation memo no. (No. F.1-16/2009(CPP-II) on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions, 2009 and notification by the state govt. of West Bengal vide memo no. 30(23) SSS (A/CS/T)/2023 dt. 14th August 2023.

2. Those who will be selected for admission must submit a declaration confirming that they will not engage in any work or job. This is to ensure consistent attendance in classes,

3. Students opting for hostel accommodation must submit a declaration stating that they will not leave the hostel without proper permission from the concerned authority and that they will be required to attend classes while residing in the hostel.
