ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR M.A./M.Sc. PROGRAMMES FOR THE SESSION 2025-26 (JULY-AUGUST, 2025)

The Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, University of Kalyani invites online applications for admission into the following UGC-DEB approved (Vide F.No. 21-78/2020 (DEB-III), dated: 05.08.2021) 2 years (CBCS) semester-based Post Graduate M.A./M.Sc. Programmes under the Open & Distance Learning (ODL) mode for the academic session 2025-2026 (July-August, 2025).

PROGRAMMES OFFERED & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

M.A. Programmes

1	M.A. in Bengali	Hons./Spl. Hons. in Bengali OR General/Pass Graduate (10+2+3) with qualifying marks in Bengali (≥150 marks) OR General Graduate (0+2+2) with a one-year bridge course in Bengali.
2	M.A. in English	Hons./Spl. Hons. in English OR General/Pass Graduate (10+2+3) with qualifying marks in English (≥150 marks) OR General Graduate (10+2+2) with a one-year bridge course in English
3	M.A. in History	Hons./Spl. Hons. in History OR General/Pass Graduate (10+2+3) with qualifying marks in History (≥150 marks) OR General Graduate (10+2+2) with a one-year bridge course in History.
4	M.A. in Education	Hons./Spl. Hons. in Education OR General/Pass Graduate (10+2+3) with qualifying marks in Education (≥150 marks) OR General Graduate (10+2+2) with a one-year bridge course in Education OR Graduates (any discipline) with B.Ed./equivalent degrees.

Note:

- Candidates with an existing M.A. degree can apply for another M.A. programme (except M.A. in Education).

- Professional degrees (e.g., Music, Drama, Film Studies, M.P.Ed, M.Ed.) are not eligible.

Admission Process for M.Sc.:

1. Merit-based selection with reservation as per Govt. of West Bengal rules.

2. Payment link activated only after merit list publication.

M.A. programmes are offered at 23 study centres across Nadia, Murshidabad, and North 24 Parganas. M.Sc. programmes are available only at the Kalyani University Main Campus.
